Meet Our New 2024 Fall Intern, Gabriela Gonzalez

Gabriela Gonzalez is joining Jones Health Law as the 2024 Fall Intern, she is a 3L at Nova Southeastern University. Here’s what you should know about Gabriela:

Why did you decide to go to law school?

I was determined to go to law school since I was twelve years old, my goal was to be the first lawyer in my family.

What interests you about Health Law?

My life experiences have led me into the health space. Starting with my passion of human health; I founded my own personal training business. My mother also owns a business in the healthcare industry for children, and I look forward to applying my knowledge to the family business. Now, throughout law school, I have been involved with research on the Controlled Substances act, the Americans with Disabilities act, and ethical issues in the medical field. Personally, I enjoy health law because it is an area which offers a unique opportunity to learn about a diverse range of issues that impacts everyone.

What are you hoping to gain from this internship?

I hope to gain experiences helping businesses in the health sector and truly experience what it is like to do so in real practice. The business side of health law has always interested me and since I have some experience on the governmental side, I look forward to the exposure into the business side of the practice area.

Tell me something interesting about yourself.

I enjoy running half marathons and look forward to running the Miami Half Marathon in early 2025. I look forward to joining and making an impact on your firm.
