Appointments Made to Autonomous APRN Council

The Boards of Medicine, Nursing, and Osteopathic Medicine have made appointments to the Council on Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Autonomous Practice. Legislation creating the Council went into effect on July 1, 2020. The Council will recommend standards of practice for APRNs who register with the Board of Nursing for autonomous practice. How Does a Nurse Practitioner Establish an Independent Practice in Florida?

Effective July 1, 2020, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (“APRN”) will be able to register their own autonomous practice throughout Florida with the passage of House Bill 607. No longer will the APRN have to provide patient care within the framework of an established protocol with a supervising physician if they are properly registered. If the APRN is not registered then an established protocol will still be required. Jamaal Jones Wins Against Florida Board of Nursing

On June 6th, Jamaal R. Jones represented a client during a Board of Nursing hearing at the Streamsong Resort. The Board wanted to permanently revoke the client's nursing license, pay over $15k in fines, etc. stemming from very serious allegations. Jamaal Jones Attends Palm Beach Pediatric Society Meeting

  On August 30, 2017, Jamaal R. Jones, Esq. attended a Palm Beach Pediatric Society Member's Event. There was a social hour followed by a two-hour presentation titled "Back to School -- It's Time to Sleep! A Medical and Behavioral Approach to Sleep Disorders in School-Age Children and Adolescents".   The objective for the presentation was for attendees to be able to: (1) Describe how to take a sleep history; (2) Differentiate the categories of sleep disorders; and (3) Summarize the different techniques for evaluation and management of sleep disorders.   The event was held at the West Palm Beach Marriott....
