Jones Health Law Welcomes Olivia Blessing as the 2025 Summer Intern for the TN Office

Olivia is currently a rising 3L at Belmont University College of Law in Nashville, TN. She is a Middle TN native, and I returned to the area after graduating college at The University of Alabama.

Questions:

Why did you decide to go to law school?

I decided to go to law school because I’ve always admired how the law forms the backbone of our society. The idea of not just studying that system but actually participating in it as a working part of the legal process is what excites me most. It’s motivating to be in a field where your work can have real influence on the way society operates.

What interests you about Health Law?

I’m drawn to health law because it operates at the intersection of law, policy, and the practical realities of people’s lives. It’s a field where legal analysis can have a direct impact on individuals’ access to care, the functioning of healthcare systems, and broader public health outcomes. I find it rewarding to engage with legal issues that have real-world consequences for communities and individuals.

What are you hoping to gain from this internship?

I hope to gain hands-on experience in applying legal concepts to real-world issues, deepen my understanding of health law in practice, and develop practical skills that will help shape my future as an attorney. I hope to acquire the skills and knowledge that are tough to obtain through a law school class.

Tell me something about yourself.

I have an Old English Sheepdog named Maggie!
