Learn more about Pearl below!
1. Why did you decide to go to law school?
I have always been drawn to problem solving and the versatility of the legal field. Law touches on so many aspects of our daily life, and I like that it challenges you to think critically while strengthening your advocacy skills. As a first-generation law student, this path is especially meaningful to me, and I am excited for the journey ahead!
2. What interests you about health law?
I come from a family of dentists so I grew up around conversations about patient care and the healthcare system, which sparked my interest early on. Having grown up in Canada, where there is public funding and access, I can provide a broader perspective on these issues. I am interested in how the field continues to evolve in public health and policy. I am also pursuing the Health Law Concentration at NSU Law!
3. What are you hoping to gain from this internship?
I am hoping to gain hands-on experience in health law. I would likely see how attorneys navigate complex, technical issues, especially where cases involve medical terminology and concepts. I would like to also gain a better understanding of the specific areas of health law that interest me.
4. Tell me something about yourself
Outside of law school, I really enjoy trying new things and picking up new hobbies! During the pandemic, I taught myself the guitar myself, and recently, I have started learning the piano. I have also gotten into cooking and love to host for friends and family!
